GamaSutra sat down with Yoshinori Ono to discuss many of the intricate details of Street Fighter 4’s game play.
For those of you lucky enough to live, where else, in SoCal, specifically Walnut, CA, you will be allowed the privilege of playing on the first Street Fighter IV arcade machine installed in the US.
Street Fighter is Now in 3D and…………….
What follows is a pretty good piece on how the game shaped up, and why they tried to appeal to a more casual crowd, while still keeping hardcore players in mind.
You can really see the game in all its glory, and it looks like one heck of a great time.
What happened with Street Fighter IV was at the beginning, the way that characters get punched or kicked or the return motion of their fist or foot… we left that at 60 frames, moving really smoothly, and left all of the animation in there.
Nothing earth shaking here, except that he wants to create another Marvel vs. Capcom game.
Now we have a 4-minute gameplay trailer from ZTekken 6, direct from the AM Show In Tokyo!
Just add one of the standard Akumas into Goukens story then dude.
I had Rare Akuma on my select.def but took him off cos he was too over the top, I dislike characters like that you see.
I had a Street Fighter comic from years ago by Masaomi Kanzaki and Gouken was a really big character who wore a large kimono, he wouldn’t work well as a fighter like that though, and who’s to say he even fights in a ghi like Ryu or Ken.
The winners of each tournament will receive a $1,000 prize, as well as the chance to earn another $500 if they can best the other tourney champ in both games.
I love what you have done with Chun Li too, I was a bit surprised that you went with KIKOKEN sprites rather than a MvC style laser beam for the proton cannon but either way she is looking mighty fine.
Mixing classic genre-defining game mechanics the franchise is known and loved for with all-new, never-before-seen gameplay systems, Street Fighter IV brings a brand new fighting game to fans the world over.
Also we’ve added lots of new locations to the SF4 arcade machine tracker, plus there’s a F.A.Q. area and basic gameplay information page for you to look at.
The sprites Durlyo updated mostly look like your old gouken base.
What more is there to say, you know we are fighting game suckers here at GR.
A thing that I found to be a problem with people trying to make 2D fighting games in 3D in the past is that there’s too much focus on finishing animation like, making sure that the entire punch goes all the way through and comes back, instead of just snapping back so that it’s more functional than visual.
Ryu Takes His Revenge On Akuma For Killing Gouken.
One more day of tournament play is slated, so tune in tomorrow for one more day of news and vids from the latest Capcom fighters.
